Sumithra Krishnamurthy

Sumithra is a recent graduate from the University of Sussex in the UK where she read International Development under the tutelage of Robert Chambers and Andrea Cornwall. Sumithra has extensive experience in the fields of advocacy, awareness raising and communications, particularly in work related to human rights and representation to women, children and victims of violence. Prior to joining WGNRR she worked with UN Women in Mexico City, coordinating the HeForShe and UNiTE to End Violence Campaigns as well as with Childreach International in the London where she worked in youth engagement and children’s rights.

 Sumithra is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree in Regional Rural Development at the University of Chapingo and speaks English, Spanish, French, Tamil and Telugu, and is currently learning Swedish.
