WGNRR Statement Regarding Flight MH17

The Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) expresses deep sorrow over the loss of life of the passengers and crew of flight MH17 shot down over eastern Ukraine, on Thursday, 17 July 2014. That such a senseless and horrific tragedy has also resulted in the irreplaceable loss of numbers of committed HIV/AIDS academics, healthcare workers and activists who were heading to the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia, is heartbreaking. As avowed by the International AIDS Society, we will do our best in the upcoming AIDS 2014 Conference and beyond to honour our colleagues and their work in the HIV/AIDS movement. 

We offer our deepest and heartfelt condolences to all the families, friends and colleagues of the victims of this crash.
