WGNRR’s statement for the 68th Session of the CSW

January 31, 2024

We emphasize that gender equality and empowerment for all can only be achieved if women and girls are provided with the opportunities for full and equal participation in development. These opportunities are intrinsically linked to rights-based SRH programs, the removal of burdensome and anti-choice institutions, and the uncompromising pursuit of development justice. At the core of the mission to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls lies the universal and complete realization of sexual and reproductive health and rights.

A Guide to Campaign Messaging for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

November 21, 2023

Globally, we take part in the 16 Days of Activism Against gender-based violence (GBV), and observe the Philippines’ 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC). As this year’s call to action theme goes, “UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls”, we cannot underestimate the critical role played by well-funded and robust SRHR institutions and programs in realizing #SRHR4ALL and eradicating GBV.

Solidarity Statement: End the War on Gaza now!

October 20, 2023

The Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people as they resist militarism, imperialism, and settler colonization. We firmly denounce the grave violation amounting to gross war crimes, including severe infringements on their human rights, among which are sexual and reproductive health and rights. We demand an end to Israel’s regime of colonial apartheid, inhumane siege, and blockade on Gaza. The time has come to put an end to the collective suffering inflicted upon civilians in Gaza.

Joint statement: Stop the attack on WHRDs defending abortion rights!

September 27, 2023

Across the world, women human rights defenders (WHRDs) continue to be harassed, threatened, convicted, and killed by state and non-state forces, despite state obligations to ensure their protection and to create an enabling environment for their work. This is especially the case for WHRDs defending abortion rights, who face fundamentalist opposition forces and are targeted in […]

Our Voices, Our Actions, Our Demand: Uphold women’s health and rights now!

May 24, 2023

This May 28 International Day of Action for Women’s Health, SRHR activists and allies take action, mobilize, and amplify demands for realizing sexual and reproductive health and rights, and justice. Let us stay firm in our resolve and assert stronger that #WomensHealthMatters and demand #SRHR4ALL!

This May 28, we highlight that an attack on SRHR anywhere attacks all our rights everywhere. Therefore, addressing these critical issues is a matter of globally concerted efforts, multisectoral and intersectional collaboration, and seeking accountability on a global scale. May 28 is also a time to celebrate and take encouragement from the hard-fought gains in health and SRHR won by social movements worldwide.

These attacks and regressions are not deterrents to us but instead, fuel our mobilization as we stand firm. We are stronger and louder when we come together, in solidarity with women and girls and our allies across the world – be it in celebration of their gains or the continuing struggle for the full realization of #SRHR4ALL.

Advance SRHR! Persist in the face of regressions!
