2024 marks a year of milestones and changes for WGNRR as we welcome new leadership during our 40th anniversary. We are excited about the transformative feminist leadership Debanjana will bring not just to the WGNRR team but also to our sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice movement.

Debanjana has over 20 years of experience in advocacy and policy, strategy, management, development communications, humanitarian and crisis management and communications, branding, and strategy development. Working in feminist cross-movements of SRHR, climate justice, and gender equality, among other key themes, she has led an Indian coalition on safe abortions and gender equality, led programs, and developed roadmaps for the convergence of energy, livelihood, climate, and SRHR. In her previous role as Director of Programs and Partnerships at the MSI Reproductive Choices-Foundation for Reproductive Health Services India, she has successfully led policy changes that improved access to SRHR services in India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam and has built a framework on humanitarian support, child rights, and gender rights. Debanjana is also a celebrated writer and columnist, with published works on Women’s Web, The Quint, and The Times of India.

With 40 years in action, WGNRR looks forward to having partners with us in our commemorations, campaigns, and beyond as we continue making herstory in achieving sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. We also want to hear from you: how can we work together to strengthen our intersectional movement for SRHR and justice?
