CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: WGNRR YOUTH BOARD MEMBER/TREASURER
WGNRR is seeking for a qualified young sexual and reproductive health and rights activist from the Asian region to fill a vacancy on its International Board.
About the role
The role of Board members is to ensure the institutional integrity of the organization, consistency and advancement of organizational mandate and values, financial soundness and integrity, adequacy and stability of its resources, effective leadership and management in order to effectively promote WGNRR’s work and credibility with key constituencies. The youth board member would also bring young people’s perspective at WGNRR’s advocacies and organizational direction.
Responsibilities:
- Board members are expected to attend a yearly face-to-face Board meeting.
- Board members are expected to join Board Sub-Committees and participate in meetings held via conference calls.
- Board members are not remunerated for their time, though travel expenses to Board meetings are reimbursed.
- Board members are expected to represent and promote the organisation at the regional and international level.
- Board members are expected to mobilise resources and liaise with donors/funding agencies.
Specific Qualifications:
- Strong experience and knowledge in young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Have extensive knowledge of the SRHR actors within the Asian continent and be able to connect WGNRR
- Must have a good understanding of the political context relating to SRHR within at least one Asian country and ideally have a good understanding SRHR within the Asian region
- Have experience of SRHR advocacy or of working with SRHR advocates
- Strong experience and knowledge in financial management, ideally with International NGO·
- Have strategic vision and leadership skills
- Proven experienced in fundraising
- Experience of working closely with a Global South-based organisation preferably with a strong focus on SRHR

- Be committed to feminist principles
- Under 30-year old .
- Willing to devote necessary time and effort
- Able to understand and accept legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of current WGNRR member, or prepared to join the membership immediately.
