About WGNRR
WGNRR is a southern-based global feminist network that strengthens movements for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and justice. Our work is grounded in the realities of those who most lack economic, social and political power. Through critical analysis and strategic actions, we connect members and allies, build knowledge, organize campaigns and share resources. WGNRR works to realize the full SRHR of all people, with a focus on the most marginalized, including young people. We believe that achieving this goal requires transformative social change. WGNRR works within the rights, justice and feminist frameworks.
We aim to be member focused, inclusive and accountable in all that we do. We are committed to equality for all genders and value diversity. We are self-reflective and independent from political, governmental or religious institutions.
Background
2024 marks the 40th year of WGNRR. Established by feminists and activists at the 4th International Women and Health Meeting (IWHM) in Amsterdam in 1984, WGNRR has since connected and mobilized organizations and networks to defend SRHR and reproductive justice. The 40th anniversary Impact study will celebrate the accomplishments of WGNRR and renew its commitment to supporting and enhancing grassroots and community-based leadership. The evaluation will look into the extent to which WGNRR has contributed to and supported grassroots organizations in advancing SRHR and justice at various levels. The findings of the evaluation will be utilized for strategic partnerships and collaborations and inform the future program planning and internal processes of WGNRR.
