WGNRR Africa is seeking an experienced public Accountant to serve as the Finance Officer (FO). The FO will be working closely with the WGNRR Africa Regional Coordinator, the WGNRR Finance Manager and the WGNRR Executive Director to support and undertake the financial management of WGNRR Africa in the Dar-es-salaam.
A new WHO Director-General, Dr. Tevros was appointed at the World Health Assembly (May 22-May 31). In this regard, and in the context of May 28 (International Day of Action for Women’s Health), Global Doctors for Choice, IFMSA, IPPF, and WGNRR have put together a letter for the new Director-General, congratulating him on his appointment and asking him to support and advance all commitments to women and girls’ health, particularly their SRHR. Over 120 different Civil Society Organisations endorsed the letter.
Activists speaking out for women’s rights, specifically regarding access to safe and legal abortion services organised a series of actions in the wake of the so-called “Walk for life” in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Actions were organised to highlight the real intentions of the conservative-led gatherings and warned that this walk had nothing to do with the preservation of life but rather, one that has an agenda to restrict abortion accessibility and to make it illegal.
PINSAN members submitted a joint report to the 27th Session of the UPR Working Group of the UN HRC on the Philippine governments’ commitment and obligations in the area of women’s reproductive and sexual health.

Young feminists of different civil society organizations from all over the world have come together in solidarity for the 61st Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (13-24 March) and the 50th Commission on Population and Development (3-7 April) in New York. In a political climate of increasing conservatism, religious fundamentalism, funding withdrawals and the aggressive rollback of the rights of women and marginalized people, young feminists have gathered to share an alternative vision of a world that respects all genders, upholds gender equality, and places human rights at the core of its mandate. Young feminists, in all their diversities, are the driving force in their communities, building intersectional movements and pushing for political agendas that cross boundaries and advance human rights for all.
I’m a 24 year old psychologist from the Central University of Venezuela, and I work as an SRHR activist for Family Planning Venezuela (PLAFAM). I often get asked, “What exactly is your work about?” Well, in addition to sending and receiving a lot of emails every day, talking about sex and sexuality and remembering a lot of acronyms, I like to see my daily work as part of ongoing contributions towards realizing Sexual and Reproductive Justice.
We are a diverse group of young feminist advocates, gathered in New York at the Sixty-First Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), working for gender, reproductive, economic, ecological, and social justice and political transformation.
