In Loving Memory of Catherine Manangan

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Catherine Manangan, on 28th September 2024.

Catherine was so much more than WGNRR’s Programme Officer. She was a fearless activist, a dedicated mother, and a cherished friend. Her passion for the rights of workers, women and children, and people with disability, as well as her unwavering commitment to the fight for SRHR and safe abortion, will forever inspire us. A sister in the struggle, her fighting spirit, her infectious smile, and the laughter we shared with her will remain with us always.

She passed on September 28, a day of action for the right to safe abortion, and every time we fight for human rights and justice, it will be in her memory.

In honor of Catherine, WGNRR will be observing a period of mourning. During this time, we kindly ask for your understanding as we may be slower to respond to work-related matters.

A public viewing will be held until Oct. 2, 2024 at Barangay 898 Hall, Zone 100, Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila (Pin: Kalahi St. corner F. Manalo St., Brgy 898). Please join us on Sept. 29 at 6:00pm for a night of tribute to Catherine.
