Leadership Transition at WGNRR
In a significant transition for the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR), Executive Director Marevic “Bing” Parcon will be stepping down from her role after a 6-year tenure and 14 years at WGNRR. A new Executive Director is to assume by March 2024.
WGNRR is committed to the principles of feminist leadership, accountability, and self-reflection. In this light, as the transition process continues, WGNRR activities will be overseen by a collaborative effort between the Programme Staff coordinated by Teta Sibugon, Administration and Finance Staff managed by Benily Dimabyu, WGNRR Africa Regional Director Nondo Ejano, and the dedicated Board of Directors.
Bing Parcon has played a pivotal role in WGNRR’s growth and has been a source of feminist camaraderie for all our partners in the 14 years she has been with WGNRR. Under her leadership, WGNRR has joined over 800 organizations across more than 85 countries in advancing sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice for all. Our campaigns have reached well over a hundred million impressions online and have joined thousands of activists in taking action. Bing led with a dedicated effort in resource mobilization that not only strengthened the organization’s financial capacity, but we also were able to support countless women’s rights and youth-led organizations around the world in their work to promote SRHR4ALL. The board and staff of WGNRR express deep gratitude for Bing’s unwavering dedication and transformative leadership.
In Bing Parcon’s own words, “I am truly grateful for the 14 years I have spent at Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights, where my activism for SRHR and social justice has been nurtured and supported. I will forever be an SRHRJ-mobilizer!”
As part of her next journey, Bing will be joining the International Planned Parenthood Federation – East and South East Asia and Oceania Region (IPPF-ESEAOR) as their Director for Member Association Support & Development in East & South East Asia.
We continue to persist for a world where all people can fulfill their sexual and reproductive rights; we take this vision as our guidepost as the organization moves into this new phase.
2024 is a year of changes and milestones for us as it marks our 40th year in action. We look forward to the continued engagement and support from our global community in our 40th-year commemorations and beyond as we continue our journey in advocacy.
