Call for Expressions of Interest: WGNRR Website Redesign and Development
Background
Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) is a Southern-based global network that builds and strengthens movements for Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights (SRHR) and justice. We work to realise the full SRHR and justice of all people, with a particular focus on the most marginalised. WGNRR has 40 years’ experience of mobilising and campaigning on SRHR issues. Our work is grounded in the realities of those who most lack economic, social and political power. Through critical analysis and strategic actions, we connect members, partners, and allies, build knowledge, organize campaigns and share resources. Our key objectives are to coordinate and strengthen national and regional networks of SRHR organizations, initiating activities that ensure that all women and girls are able to exercise their right to make a free and informed decision regarding their SRHR.
The main WGNRR website (wgnrr.org) has been a crucial platform in advancing the organization’s mission and advocacy. It functions as a hub for sharing organizational updates, campaigns, publications, and stories. It has contributed significantly to enhance WGNRR’s visibility, credibility, and engagement with stakeholders globally.
WGNRR also manages two campaign microsites:
- may28.org: Dedicated to the International Day of Action for Women’s Health.
- september28.org: Focused on our campaign around International Safe Abortion Day
These microsites have played a central role in WGNRR’s global communications and advocacy efforts, especially during international days of action. They host extensive archives of resources, campaign materials, and partner contributions that have accumulated over the years.
While the current platforms have served WGNRR well, there is a recognized need to:
- Refresh the visual design and branding to reflect WGNRR’s values, evolving identity, and standing as a women’s global network, capturing the vibrant energy of its work in movement-building, networking, and artivism rooted in the Global South.
- Improve site navigation and overall user experience (UX), ensuring ease of access to content and materials.
- Make the websites more inclusive, accessible and mobile-responsive for diverse audiences across the Global South.
- Enhance integration between WGNRR.org and its microsites to provide a more cohesive digital ecosystem.
- Strengthen the platforms’ capacity to support dynamic global campaigns, resource dissemination, multimedia storytelling, and cross-border partner engagement.
Objective
WGNRR seeks to engage a qualified website developer or development agency with a proven track record in designing inclusive, user-friendly, and advocacy-oriented digital platforms. The selected service provider will work closely with WGNRR’s Communications and Campaigns Officer, under the guidance of the Executive Director, to lead the comprehensive revamp of the main website (wgnrr.org) and refresh the organization’s campaign microsites (may28.org and september28.org), ensuring that the three platforms are seamlessly connected and integrated to provide a cohesive digital experience.
The primary goal of this engagement is to enhance the visual identity, functionality, and accessibility of WGNRR’s online platforms, ensuring they effectively communicate the organization’s mission, amplify advocacy efforts, and provide a seamless, intuitive experience for diverse users worldwide.
The revamped platforms must:

- Enable easy navigation between the main site and campaign microsites;
- Allow stakeholders to access and download multimedia content;
- Provide up-to-date information on WGNRR’s activities, news, and events.
Additionally, robust technical performance, mobile responsiveness, and user engagement features will be essential to ensure that the website remains a reliable and dynamic tool for community building, advocacy, and knowledge-sharing across the global SRHR movement.
