WGNRR Members in Action: Mujer y Salud en Uruguay (MYSU)
Mujer y Salud en Uruguay (MYSU) is a feminist non-governmental organization whose mission is to promote and advocate for sexual and reproductive health rights. The organization works in four areas: monitoring, communication, training and lobbying policymakers.
Founded in 1996, the organization has helped build a strong citizens coalition in defense of sexual and reproductive rights. To check how public policies and services are working, 10 years ago, Mujer y Salud launched a survey on gender and sexual and reproductive health to monitor birth control, birth and post-natal services, domestic and sexual violence, sexually transmitted diseases, abortion, and services to teens. Thus, the organization is a referent on these issues.
