This program is open for all Philippine-based women’s rights, youth-led and youth-focused, and other sectoral and community-based organizations. We will support organizations to enhance their advocacy capacities, access platforms for linking and learning and co-create advocacy and campaigns with other organizations. Together, through the program, we deepen our knowledge of SRHR and intersecting issues, improve our advocacy and influencing skills, and create a bigger impact for women and girls’ rights!

Women’s Menstrual Hygiene Matters!

Menstrual health issues have not been given enough attention and remain to be unspoken topics surrounded by taboos, stigma, socio-cultural and religious restrictions, and isolation in Tanzanian society. In many cultures of the Tanzanian Society, menstruating women are considered impure and are excluded or restricted from participating in day-to-day public activities, such as education, some economic activities including employment, sports, cultural and religious events.his exclusion results to inequality, discrimination, and gender-based violence against menstruating women and girls; which have lasting implications throughout their life.

WGNRR together with Advocates for SRHR commits to support women and young people in Asia to advocate for sexual and reproductive health and rights. Through our advocacy strategies, we aim to increase the acceptability of SRH information and services, including CSE and access to contraceptives and safe abortion, encourage decision-making and bodily autonomy, and strengthen movements for SRHR in the region.

WGNRR Africa commits to work in partnership with partners in the region to coordinate collective actions to ensure laws, policies and practices enable young people and women and girls, including those with disabilities to have access to respectful, quality, youth-friendly and disability-sensitive sexual and reproductive health information and services by 2026.

Women’s rights groups and grassroots organizations come together in an online rally for Women’s Health

On May 28, the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) and the Philippine Safe Abortion Advocacy Network (PINSAN) led an online rally to amplify demands regarding women’s health amid the pandemic. Attended by a hundred women from various sectors, the rally is in line with the global commemoration of the International Day of Action for Women’s Health with the theme, “Women’s Health Matters: Ending the Inequality Pandemic and Ensuring Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights remain essential!”.
